We’re excited to announce the release of Waizu 5.1, a powerful update focused on automated alerts, stress detection, improved visibility, and deployment ease

Here’s what’s new in version 5.1:

Waizu Notification Center

The new Notification Center makes it easy to keep the right people informed at the right time.

Waizu ensures alerts are routed quickly and clearly. Many of the new features of 5.1 tie into the notification centre to provide even greater benefit.

Key highlights:

  • View workflow-related notifications directly within the Waizu One Cloud
  • Choose your channel: notifications can also be sent via Email, Slack, or Microsoft Teams
  • Set up workflows and assign notifications to specific sites or managers
  • Customise notification content to include device user, location, and timestamp data

Unauthorised Zone Alerting

The new unauthorised zone creation allows you to get deeper insight into devices that are moving into areas where they shouldn’t and feeds back both through the device and the new notification centre.

  • Set up Waizu beacons on dock doors, break rooms or lockers, for example, to prevent devices from being moved out of areas where they are required
  • Provide alerting through the notification centre to give the relevant people visibility that a device has entered an unauthorised zone
  • Provide instant feedback with devices alarming when coming into a specified range of an unauthorised zone

Lost Mode Improvements

Keeping track of missing or improperly handled devices is now even easier, thanks to new lost mode workflows that integrate with the notification centre:

  • Inactivity Alert: Get notified when a user doesn’t respond to inactivity checks
  • No Login Alert: Know instantly if a device is undocked and no one logs in

Each of these workflows helps reduce device misuse, strengthen compliance, and minimise downtime.

Waizu Cockpit – Missing Reasons

It’s now even clearer why a device is missing. With 5.1, Waizu Cockpit displays the specific workflow or condition that triggered the missing status, helping teams resolve issues faster.

Stress Detection & Monitoring

Version 5.1 introduces the ability to detect and respond to high-stress events. This means each device can tell you when it’s being mistreated physically.

New capabilities include:

  • Set thresholds tailored to your environment (e.g. shock, vibration, or handling events)
  • View detailed stress event logs in Waizu One Cloud
  • Build workflows triggered by stress-related conditions

Stress detection is bolstered on its launch by the simultaneous launch of Workflows. There are workflows that are specifically designed to provide key insights into the stress monitoring on devices, these are:

  • High Stress Event: Immediate alert when high-stress is detected
  • High Stress Daily Summary: Daily site-level summaries of any flagged events

Launch of Cabinet Utilisation Metrics

Virtual Smart Cabinets just got more insightful. You can now track utilisation metrics for:

  • Concurrent device utilisation
  • Maximum device utilisation
  • Concurrent Employee Utilisation

This information can help guide better and more strategic usage of devices across sites and visibility of where devices are over utilised, underutilised and any potential user based issues on devices.

Easier Deployment with Identity Permissions

We’ve simplified the setup experience for Waizu Identity users not deploying via MDM. A new Permissions screen highlights any missing permissions, making it quick and easy to enable them directly on the device.
